Unity Talk Night
November 1 @ 19:30 — 22:00Free
Want a break from the co-learning sessions? Not to worry, we have lined up a talk night all about Unity at the Unity office itself here in Berlin!
We are lucky enough to have 2 speakers offering to share their knowledge (and demo it too!) of more involved topics that many Unity users may be unfamiliar with.
Talk: AR in Unity3D
In this short introduction to AR in Unity3D, Tank Thunderbird will show some example projects of what can be done with AR using the Unity3D engine. She will discuss some of the most popular frameworks and explain how to get started quickly with AR using the Vuforia library inside of Unity.
Tank is a creative technologist currently living in Berlin. She has a degree in Fine Arts from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota and a Master in Art and Technology from Chalmers University of Technology. She has worked as a Creative Technical Lead for UX Design projects as well as on Interactive Art Installations and Wearable Technologies. She is also a Unity3D developer and a 2D and 3D animation artist.
Talk: Custom Editors
Custom Unity editors are a powerful way to make your game development process designer and artist friendly and a great way to add value to Asset Store products. However compared to a lot of the rest of Unity the documentation leaves much to be desired. This talk aims to give a basic orientation and some tips and tricks regarding property drawers, scriptable objects, editor windows, and custom editors.
Martha is working as a programmer for Wooga on the game Bubble Island 2. She is from the US but is living in Germany to get away from the poor health care, work-life balance, and Trump. She started using Unity as a student, and has been using it for the past 4 or so years.
There are a limited number of spaces so be sure to RSVP fast! Unity will also provide free drinks, in case you needed more motivation to come!
