Game Designer – Senior (f/m) at Thoughtfish in Berlin

Thoughtfish develops games and gamified apps for mobile devices. We strive to create innovative products and technologies with areas of applicability beyond the scope of gaming. We are looking for professionals to strengthen our friendly, highly-motivated team.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively design and prototype core gameplay systems
  • Communicate design and vision to team and stakeholders
  • Create and maintain internal design documents
  • Drive the quality of systems and gameplay
  • Iterate, balance, and tune gameplay features based on KPIs and feedback
  • Proactively seek out gameplay problems and come up with solutions
  • Maintain industry best practices in the team working environment

Your Qualifications:

  • Two or more published gaming titles, at least one of them mobile and/or free-to-play (ideally viewable and playable)
  • At least 4 years of professional game development experience
  • Experience in balancing complex gameplay systems
  • Ability and willingness to adapt fast to new emerging tasks and responsibilities
  • Avid gamer with knowledge and understanding of various games and game types
  • Passionate about creating videogames

Your Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills, particularly in design documentation
  • Strong algorithmic and analytic skills
  • Good communication skills; ample teamwork experience
  • Previous experience with free-to-play title development and/or operating a live game
  • Previous experience with major game engines, preferably Unity
