Senior Full Stack Game Developer (Unity3D) (m/f) at Awesome Prototype in Berlin

Who we are?

At Awesome Prototype programmers are gameplay masters. Beyond building tech, you will wear your designer hat and make a ton of calls on what goes into, and what doesn’t go into, games. With constant development of both live games and prototypes, game programmers have a ton of responsibilities here, and we’re looking for the best of the best… the type of programmers we can build entire game teams around.

One of the most important aspects of the Game Programming Team at Awesome Prototype is the ability to communicate and share our work between projects. If one game team creates something cool, we often use or repurpose that in another game. Part of your role will be to effectively collaborate and share knowledge among the rest of the team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Be part of the development process and continuously improve the devepment  process. Provide high quality  code throughout the entire production cycle.
  • Work on game features and successfully deliver high quality code in reasonable time.
  • Mentor other developers in the team and help maintain the quality of the code and the product in general.
  • Be able to take ownership of entire features or components of the game and if needed, work with other members of the team to deliver large and complex features in time and at very high quality.
  • Partner with art team / producers to ensure schedules and plans to meet business and project needs.


Your Profile

  • Bachelor or equivalent degree in Computer Science or similar area.
  • 3 years of experience working in a game studio (>20 employees) with minimum 2 years of experience working on Unity3D.
  • At least 7 years of work experience in the software industry
  • Experience with entire game production pipeline and working on a live game.
  • Advanced knowledge of game development in Unity3D (ex. Asset Bundles, Integrating or writing Plugins, Shaders).
  • Good Knowledge of server side development (BaaS/Javascript/MongoDB).
  • Good Knowledge of build / version control, pipeline management and Continuous Integration best practices.
  • Experience with mentoring other developers in the team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Takes initiative to solve problems without being told, resulting in excellent follow-through.
  • Deep passion for games and entertainment industry
  • Good command of English
  • Advanced verbal communication skills in German
