Web Developer at Experimental Game in Berlin / Halle (Saale)

 

 

Gamebook Technology is being developed by Experimental Game GmbH, a company founded in 2010 by Prof. Thomas Langhanki and Prof. Klaus-Dieter Müller. Since its inception the company has been focused on devising a production pipeline for episodic playable media formats.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and implement core components for our product: Gamebook Technology
  • Work together with the PO and Product Designer to shape upcoming features
  • Deliver production-quality code with adequate automated test coverage
  • Accurately estimate time to complete deliverables

 

Your skills and experience:

  • You have 3+ years of professional experience within the field of web development and software engineering
  • You hold a degree in computer science or a similar field
  • You have a strong understanding of Javascript (ES6), including functional programming, prototypal inheritance and common patterns
  • You are experienced in working on Single Page Application projects with React.js and its ecosystem (Webpack, Redux, HMR)
  • You have solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3
  • You have experience with dependency and build management (npm, Webpack)
  • You have experience with TDD using Mocha, Chai, Karma or similar
  • You work efficiently with Git and its workflows (GitFlow)
  • You are practical, dedicated and independent in your work
  • You are a positive team player with good communication skills in English

 

Nice to have:

  • You have worked on WebSocket applications before
  • You have DevOps experience (AWS stack)
  • You touched GraphQL & MongoDB
  • You have a keen eye for design and usability
