The conference is to discuss the implications of interpreting computer games as cultural artefacts. Public debates about computer games initially focused on youth protection or on economic questions. Later on, these discussions started to address their status as cultural artifacts. At first, this position came inevitably with a question mark at the end of the statement, but that was dropped somewhere along the way. So, we may safely assume that today computer games certainly count as integral to our culture.…
