Talk & Play is a free event, taking place every two months, that provides the opportunity to game enthusiasts, players and makers to meet in a friendly, relaxed and safe environment. Everybody’s welcome, regardless of their background and knowledge level: if you like games, we’ll make sure you have a good time! This is NOT an event only aimed at developers.
Talk & Play is kindly sponsored by Kickstarter, a global community built around creativity and creative projects. https://www.kickstarter.com

HOW IT WORKS
The event is structured in two parts:
— TALK: Short game-related presentations + announcements from the community
— PLAY: All participants are welcome to exhibit games and projects they’ve made

THE TALK
“Dress up ↑ Pants down ↓: ramblings of a pro dress up gamer” by Tyu Orphinae
Dress up games are a genre traditionally associated with girls games, and the stereotypes and first impressions that come with them: flashy, cheap, not really deserving of any attention. But guess what other games offer to choose between different hairstyles, makeup options, clothes and accessories? Skyrim. Mass Effect. Dark Souls. Even Rocket League or WWE wrestling games!
So let’s explore together the wonderful world of dress up games and how they’ve found their place among very different audiences, from your regular AAA title to the not so known indie dress up makers, without forgetting of course… sex games.
We’ll also look at what makes a good dress up game, why they’re valuable entry points for people to get interested in gaming and game development, and why, as developers, we should give them just a tiny bit more of attention.
Warning: the talk will feature content which some people may find disturbing.

Her interests are split between two extremes, from the cutesy world of magical girls and kids games, to the darker dimension of witchcraft and horror movies. She uses both as inspiration for her work, as a contractor and in her own projects. She is also an active member of the French collective Klondike.

After the talk, we’ll have some “pitches”, during which a selection of game makers will briefly present their projects, that you’ll be able to play in the second part of the evening.
As usual, there will also be a section dedicated to short announcements from the community – get in touch to reserve a spot: https://berlingamescene.com/contact/
