“The Brain – Open Lab” is a temporary creative work and exchange hub in Berlin for game creators, digital artists, and forward thinkers initiated and funded by the Polish Institute Berlin and the Institut Français Germany in partnership with A MAZE. .In four weeks two groups of three hand picked artists from Poland, France and Berlin are invited to work together on one playful installation. The curatorial guideline is archiving. We open the discussion with the questions “How do we capture/archive the present for the future?” and “How can we make the past and present accessible in contemporary art forms like games and digital art?

The keywords for the project are human brains, digitale/ virtuale networks, rational and emotional memories, collective intelligence, perceptions, digital archives and open knowledge.

The work of both artist groups will be presented playable at the A MAZE. / Berlin – 4th International Independent Videogames Festival on April 22 – 25, 2015. – www.amaze-berlin.de

Also during our work period of four weeks we will stage various talks, panels and presentations that will support our brain project.
