Unreal Engine / C++ Developer (m/f/d) at Sixteen Tons Entertainment in Berlin or Tübingen

Sixteen Tons Entertainment, developer of the renowned EMERGENCY series, is looking for an Unreal Engine Developer to join its team of passionate game developers on-site in its studio in Berlin or Tübingen near Stuttgart.

As Unreal Engine / C++ developer, you will play a key role in programming high-quality serious and consumer games. You will work closely together with game designers, artists and project managers.

Your tasks:

  • Implementation of features for PC, Mac and console games using Unreal Engine 4 / C++
  • Refinement, optimization and extension of existing code
  • Evaluation and integration of plugins and third-party technologies
  • Creation of technical design and software architecture documents
  • Contribution of your own creativity to the design process of game features

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar
  • At least 2 years working with a professional game or application development team
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4
  • Advanced C++ programming skills and knowledge of modern C++11/14/17
  • Familiarity with software engineering best practices
  • Good knowledge of code optimization and profiling tools
  • User-oriented thinking
  • Ability to communicate effectively in German with a German-speaking team
  • EU citizenship or a valid working permit for Germany
  • Passion for games

Desirable skills:

  • Two or more shipped titles as a programmer
  • Experience with console development (PS4, Switch)
  • Experience with client-server architectures
  • Profound knowledge of the internal functionality of modern game engines
  • Familiarity with SVN
  • Mentality of a problem solver who keeps cool even when dealing with a high workload
