Talk & Play #15
6 October 2015 @ 19:00 — 23:00Free
Talk & Play is a free event, taking place every two months, that provides the opportunity to game enthusiasts, players and makers to meet and exchange knowledge in a friendly, relaxed and safe environment.Everybody’s welcome, regardless of their background and knowledge level: if you like games, we’ll make sure you have a good time! Important: this is NOT an event only aimed at developers.
>> Important: RSVP via meetup.com is mandatory for this event! Registrations will open on Wednesday, September 23rd, at 2pm CEST (Berlin time). <<
HOW IT WORKS
The event is structured in two parts:
– TALK: A couple of short game-related presentations, followed by a Q&A session.
– PLAY: All participants are welcome to bring games they’ve made or are still working on so that the audience can play them – a perfect opportunity to discover and play new games, collect feedback and, who knows?, maybe find collaborators for future projects
“The Object of the Game is to Win” by Luke Crane
Luke Crane (Mouse Guard, Burning Wheel) talks about designing and publishing his first boardgame, and why it’s great and weird and made him love designing RPGs all the more.
Luke Crane is an RPG and boardgame designer and publisher by night; by day he’s the Head of Games at Kickstarter. burningwheel.com // @burning_luke
“Game Science Center Berlin: past, present and future” by Cay Kellinghusen and Cyrill Etter
Back in 2013, at Talk & Play #2, Cay Kellinghusen presented the idea and plan for Game Science Center Berlin. He’s now back, together with co-founder Cyrill Etter, to share some lessons learnt during the museum’s first year of activity and tell us what’s coming up next.
Cay Kellinghusen and Cyrill Etter are the founders of Game Science Center Berlin, an independent museum & event space for interactive technology & playful installations, located in the central district of Mitte, around the corner from Checkpoint Charlie. gamesciencecenter.de // @GSC_Berlin
“Gamification Lab” by Sonia Fizek and Enrique Perez
